The BLM Movement

As many of you all know, George Floyd, an African American man, was murdered by white police officer Derek Chauvin who put his knee on his neck for about 9 minutes even though George repeatedly kept stating that he couldn't breathe. After this terrible event, people expected there to be justice for George, considering that he was murdered, but the authorities taking a long time to bring justice did not sit right with people.

Not long after, more African Americans kept getting murdered by the police, such as Breonna Taylor. People soon started protesting and rioting, making the Black Lives Matter movement one of our country's most significant movements.

The Yemen Crisis

Yemen, a country located in Southwest Asia, is currently the largest humanitarian crisis in the world. According to UNICEF, more than 24 million people – some 80 percent of the population require humanitarian assistance, including more than 12 million children. There are children and people eating leaves just to survive, with war, starvation, and now a pandemic, soon Yemen could be no more. Its population is slowly decreasing due to the lives being taken, children's futures are being robbed, and it is just cruel. Just because it is not happening here doesn't mean that it is not happening anywhere else.
