Number 2: The Mothman for decades, in West Virginia, people claim that they have seen a beast, a beast that has been described as half man, and half Beast. This is the legend of the Mothman. It was first spotted by a two couple driving down near a local abandoned power plant. Suddenly, the two women spotted a figure near the plant on November 15, 1966. It disappeared inside the building. They described It as six through eight feet tall, Two great big wings, but what they definitely all remember were its glowing red eyes. They drove off down the road where they meeting the creature once again, it chased them off back into town. They told the police, but they didn't believe the couples. For the next few years, more couples and teens have reported spotting the Mothman near the power plant, even the police started to believe them.
It all ended on December 15, 1997 when The Point Pleasant bridge collapsed. The number of people killed around 46 died on that bridge. A photo was taken and there on top of the bridge, was the infamous Mothman. This made many people believe that the Mothman was sort of the grim reaper, due to the incident, and the fact it was never seen again.
To this day in every September, you could go to the same town where a Mothman festival is always held, selling various treats and merchandise.
